Seagrass sod
transplantation

Building on restoration led by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust since 2021,
this project restored an additional 2 hectares of seagrass and
trialled three planting methods: Direct Injection Seeding (DIS),
hessian seed bags, and transplant cores. Findings will inform the
Humber Estuary Seagrass Restoration Strategy, with a hybrid patchbased approach planned from 2026 to improve success.
