Welcome!
Back in 2018, we set out with an ambitious goal: to reverse the decline of seagrass meadows, saltmarshes and
native oyster (Ostrea edulis) reefs. From that vision, Restoring Meadow, Marsh and Reef (ReMeMaRe) was born,
and since then the programme has been working tirelessly to support the restoration of these vital estuarine and
coastal habitats.
With the invaluable support of Defra Marine and Fisheries, our partner organisations, colleagues and local
communities, we have made genuine progress towards our shared ambition and national targets. It is a real
pleasure to now share and celebrate what has been achieved together.
I am delighted to introduce this celebration of the programme for 2025-26, which highlights the power of
partnership working and the meaningful benefits that can be delivered for both people and nature along our
precious coastline.
