LANDSCAPE RECOVERY in east Anglia

Land Management Scheme
Landscape Recovery is a Defra
scheme delivered jointly by
Defra, Natural England, and the
Environment Agency. NE and EA
administer grant funding and
lead on-the-ground delivery,
with all three organisa琀椀ons
working together as one team.
Under the Agriculture Act
(2020), Defra delegated delivery
powers to NE and EA to support
the scheme's rollout.
East Anglia’s Landscape Recovery Projects
There are currently seven pioneering projects in East

Restoring key Brecks habitats to support species like
Stone Curlew, Turtle Dove, Pool Frog, and Great
Crested Newts.
Ouse Washes Landscape Recovery
Urgent ac琀椀on to improve a failing RAMSAR site and
protect cri琀椀cal SPA features.
North Norfolk: Wilder We琀琀er for Nature
Crea琀椀ng habitats along the coast and 昀椀ve chalk
streams; restoring river-noodplain corridors.
The Wash Landscape Partnership
Crea琀椀ng a mosaic of wetlands, salt marsh, and
restoring three chalk streams from source to sea.
West Norfolk Nature Network
Enhancing chalk river habitats and transforming the
wider ecological landscape using natural processes.
WaLOR (Waveney and Li琀琀le Ouse Recovery)
Restoring river catchments on the Su昀昀olk/Norfolk
border through river work and land use change.
Connec}ng Constable and Gainsborough Country
Linking and enhancing habitats across the Stour,
Bre琀琀, and Box valleys to support farmland
biodiversity.
